Generac Power Systems is seeking a Senior Electrical Test Engineer for its BESS Engineering Team in Canada. You will lead day-to-day testing of ESS, PCS, and generator systems, coordinate test activities, and ensure compliant validation across hardware and software domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with stored energy systems and high AC/DC currents/voltages.
• Hands-on testing on complex electronic components/systems.
• Experience developing Test Plans, Procedures, and Reports.
• Strong root-cause analysis and corrective action skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct testing on ESS, PCS, and generator systems; analyze droop curves and validate firmware settings.
• Coordinate test teams and develop test plans; document results and deviations.
• Assemble test setups; wire high/low voltage circuits; configure batteries and BMS/PCS systems.
• Perform safety-compliant, high-energy testing; analyze data for compliance and trends.
• Develop validation strategies and test procedures for battery energy storage products.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across electrical, firmware, software, and mechanical teams.
• Support certifications and regulatory testing activities.
