Job summary

Metro Vancouver's Liquid Waste Services department seeks a Senior Project Engineer to join the Maintenance and Reliability Engineering team, providing ongoing electrical and instrumentation design support and project management for WWTPs and drainage systems.

You are a licensed Electrical P.Eng with field experience in municipal facilities, capable of acting as Engineer of Record on multidisciplinary capital projects; leadership and collaboration are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical engineering.
• P.Eng with EGBC; 4+ years post-registration.
• Knowledge of electrical, instrumentation and control systems up to 25 kV.
• Ability to interpret guidelines; contract admin and project management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex electrical, instrumentation and controls design for wastewater treatment plant facilities and related systems.
• Analyze EIC requirements and guide equipment upgrades.
• Manage project budgets, RFQ/RFPs and tender processes; liaise with Purchasing.
• Provide guidance to field staff and act as a subject matter expert for projects.
• Prepare and review designs, reports, specs; represent Metro Vancouver on contracts and site inspections.
