Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead the integration and delivery of electrical systems for a major power generation package. You will oversee engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and readiness, ensuring milestones align with schedule, cost, and quality goals.

You will interface with OEMs, suppliers and project stakeholders while coordinating across disciplines to achieve safe, reliable operation and grid interconnection readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• P.Eng designation required; PMP is an asset.
• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• 10+ years in large power generation, nuclear, utility, or EPC projects.
• Experience with generator systems, grid integration, OEM/vendor management, and commissioning activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering strategy, design requirements, and standards for Conventional Island systems.
• Manage integration of generator systems, excitation, protection, cooling, monitoring, grounding, and auxiliary systems.
• Interface with turbine/generator OEMs, suppliers, consultants and project stakeholders.
• Support grid interconnection activities including synchronization, protection coordination, load flow, short circuit, and stability studies.
• Develop technical specifications, support procurement, and lead technical evaluations.
• Coordinate across engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations teams for project execution.
• Participate in design reviews, FATs, SATs, startup, commissioning and performance testing.
