Job summary

Vard Marine Inc. in Canada is seeking an experienced engineer to lead design and review of ship electrical and control systems in complex projects.

You will supervise engineers, coordinate testing and commissioning, and liaise with clients while ensuring compliance with classification and regulatory standards. The role requires a PE designation, a Bachelor’s in engineering, and 10+ years of post-graduation experience, with strong English communication and technical writing skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• (Professional Engineer designation is required).
• 10+ years post-graduation experience in the industry.
• Strong English communication and technical writing skills.
• Knowledge of electrical and control systems on ships.
• Familiarity with Classification Society, IMO, SOLAS rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design and review ship electrical and control system concepts and details.
• Review equipment and installation specifications.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning procedures.
• Interface with Classification Societies and address queries.
• Lead engineers and designers; mentor and assign tasks.
• Prepare reports for clients and support business development.
