BBA Consultants in Toronto, ON, Canada seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in Power Systems & High Voltage. You will lead HV substation and grid-scale projects, guiding multidisciplinary teams from feasibility through commissioning, and coordinate interfaces across substation, protection and control systems.

You’ll develop designs, specs and reports with a focus on safety, reliability and cost, while mentoring engineers and building lasting client partnerships.

Senior Electrical Engineer – Power Systems & High Voltage

Your future role on our team: Lead projects that connect renewableenergy, energy storage and hyperscale data centers to the grid. Bring your high-voltage expertise toprojects that are changing how electricity is generated, stored and delivered.

At BBA, our teams work on major grid-scalebattery energy storage systems (BESS), wind and solar developments, and thepower infrastructure supporting hyperscale data centres. Our portfolio includesinvolvement in the largest grid-scale BESS project built in Canada—anopportunity to apply your expertise where project scale, technical complexityand reliable grid integration come together.

We’re looking for a senior electricalengineer who combines strong technical judgement with initiative, curiosity andthe ability to bring people together. You’ll lead high-voltage and power-systemengineering assignments, guide multidisciplinary teams and help clientsnavigate critical design and interconnection decisions.

This is a hands-on leadership role withroom to shape technical solutions, mentor emerging talent and build lastingclient relationships. You’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningfulcontribution within a collaborative team.

• Lead electrical engineering for high-voltage substations,renewable generation, grid-scale BESS and hyperscale data-centre powerinfrastructure.
• Guide projects from feasibility and technology selectionthrough grid interconnection, detailed design, construction support andcommissioning.
• Develop and review engineering designs, equipmentspecifications and technical reports, bringing sound judgement to safety,reliability, constructability and cost.
• Coordinate substation, collector-system, protection andcontrol, and power-system study interfaces to deliver integratedsolutions.
• Help clients navigate utility requirements, connectionassessments and technical approvals, working with the IESO, utilities andother stakeholders.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, define scopes and budgets,coordinate resources and maintain technical quality throughout projectexecution.
• Mentor junior and intermediate engineers, technicians anddesigners through practical guidance, design reviews and knowledgesharing.
• Build trusted client relationships, identify opportunities andcontribute to proposals and presentations alongside BBA’s technical andbusiness development teams.
• Stay connected to the field through site visits, technicaltroubleshooting and commissioning support.
