Job summary

Egis Canada is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer based in Ottawa, ON, Canada to lead electrical system design for nuclear, oil and gas, and switchgear projects. You will provide coordination across disciplines, drive design documentation, and mentor junior engineers in a hybrid work environment.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in electrical engineering, with nuclear/oil & gas exposure, a P.Eng. designation, and strong knowledge of the CEC and associated standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• P.Eng. designation with PEO is required.
• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• 5+ years of design and project experience in Nuclear, Oil & Gas, or Switchgear Building Design.
• Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, review, and implementation of electrical systems for nuclear, oil and gas, and switchgear projects.
• Develop and maintain design documentation, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.
• Coordinate designs with architectural, civil, mechanical, and other teams.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers.
• Perform quality reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with the CEC and industry standards.
• Participate in stakeholder coordination and client meetings.
• Contribute to engineering standards and templates improvements.
• Support project delivery through input in planning.
