Job summary

BBA Consultants in Sudbury, Ontario, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our multidisciplinary office. You will work on industrial mining sector projects, develop power systems, and lead proposal preparation while delivering practical engineering solutions on site.

You will bring a University degree in Electrical Engineering, a PE license, 15 years of relevant experience, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• University degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer license in Ontario or from another Canadian province.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering.
• Onsite experience and focus on work safety.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical engineering projects for industrial clients.
• Participate or lead proposal preparation.
• Design power systems and give final approval for engineering documents.
• Implement work methods and prepare study reports.
• Participate in technical project management (design reviews, costs, schedules).
• Share technical knowledge with younger engineers and technicians on the team.

Overview Of Certifications And Job Requirements

• University degree in Electrical Engineering
• 15 years of relevant experience as an electrical engineer or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• Practical experience in the industrial/mining sectors (design criteria, electrical distribution and infrastructure of underground and open-pit mines, protection and control (P&C), electrical arrangement, equipment specifications, etc.)
• Onsite experience and focus on work safety
• Experience in troubleshooting, commissioning and system installation
• Professional Engineer license in Ontario or from another Canadian province
• Excellent technical writing skills
• Availability to occasionally travel to client locations as may be dictated by project needs
• Driver's licence
• Asset: Experience in a consulting engineering environment
• Asset: Experience estimating costs and preparing and presenting proposals
• Asset: Experience in multidisciplinary design
