Job summary

Manitoba Hydro in Winnipeg, MB is seeking a Professional Engineer (Electrical) to lead design work for AC and HVDC substations up to 500 kV. You will guide technical staff, review drawings, and ensure compliance with standards while coordinating with consultants and contractors.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree from a recognized university.
• Professional Engineer status with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba or eligible to attain.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction to staff and consultants in design and preparation of electrical drawings, BOMs, estimates, memos, specifications, and requisitions for AC/DC substations up to 500 kV.
• Design layout of apparatus, structure, bus configuration, clearances, insulation, and auxiliary systems for new and existing stations.
• Prepare specifications and analyze tenders for material purchases.
• Review and approve design drawings and electrical compliance with standards.
• Coordinate with manufacturers, clients, consultants, and other divisions to satisfy station design requirements.
• Manage external consultants and project design teams using standard project management practices.
