Job summary

WSP is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer – Healthcare in Vancouver. You will lead electrical design for complex healthcare facilities, from planning through construction, ensuring safety, resilience, and compliance with CSA standards while guiding a team of engineers and coordinating with allied disciplines.

You will mentor junior staff, oversee project delivery for acute care and specialty spaces, and contribute to proposals and client discussions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of electrical engineering experience in healthcare facilities.
• P.Eng designation (or eligibility) in British Columbia.
• Expertise in CSA Z32, CSA Z8000 and healthcare electrical systems best practices.
• Proficiency with engineering design software and digital coordination tools (Revit, BIM 360).
• Experience delivering multidisciplinary building projects from planning through construction.
• Ability to guide teams, influence stakeholders and build strong technical relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design of complex healthcare facilities including acute care and outpatient spaces.
• Develop power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, nurse call, grounding and backup systems per CSA standards.
• Oversee project delivery from concept through construction with quality and client satisfaction.
• Collaborate with mechanical, structural, ICT and architectural partners for coordinated designs.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to intermediate and junior electrical staff.
• Conduct site reviews, liaise with contractors and participate in design reviews.
• Contribute to proposals and client presentations for major pursuits.
• Champion energy efficiency, resilience and patient-centered care in designs.
