Job summary

WSP is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer for Healthcare Buildings in Canada. You will design and deliver electrical systems for complex healthcare facilities, spanning hospitals, clinics, and research spaces.

You’ll lead power, lighting, emergency power, and life-safety initiatives with a focus on patient-centred environments. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensure quality through reviews, and mentor junior engineers while engaging clients.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with licensure or eligibility in BC.
• Experience delivering electrical engineering solutions for healthcare facilities.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code and healthcare standards.
• Experience designing normal and emergency power, lighting, and life-safety systems.
• Proficiency with industry-standard design and analysis software; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of electrical building systems for healthcare facilities of varying size and complexity.
• Develop power distribution, lighting, emergency power, grounding and life-safety solutions for patient-centred environments.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver integrated healthcare facility designs.
• Support planning, technical reviews, quality management and project outcomes from concept through construction.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and designers while contributing to technical excellence.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand needs and deliver value-driven solutions.
• Contribute to sustainable, resilient healthcare infrastructure and business development activities.
