Job summary

Englobe in Calgary, Canada, seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical portion of EPC projects across energy, renewables, and climate-related markets. You will specify equipment, develop diagrams, review vendor drawings, and mentor junior team members.

The role emphasizes collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to safety and quality in project execution with a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering Degree required.
• Registered professional engineer with APEGA (Alberta).
• Strong MS Word and Excel skills.
• Ability to use ETAP and SKM Power Tools.
• Ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to job sites to scope out projects, meet clients and construction personnel.

Responsibilities

• Specify and procure electrical equipment such as Switchgear, MCC’s, VFD’s, UPS Systems, Generators, Heat Trace Controllers, Harmonic Filters, Electrical Buildings and induction motors.
• Support mechanical engineers in the specification of equipment such as pumps, compressors, process equipment packages.
• Review and mark-up vendor drawings with the full understanding of how they integrate with the project.
• Develop load lists, electrical equipment lists and other calculations to support the sizing and specification of equipment.
• Perform power system studies such as short circuit, coordination, arc flash, harmonic mitigation and transient motor starting using ETAP and SKM.
