Job summary

NORR is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design across building projects. You will work with the engineering team to develop solutions considering context, budget, and aesthetics, coordinating through all project phases with knowledge of building systems, materials, codes, and construction tech.

You will collaborate with professionals from multiple disciplines to ensure designs meet jurisdictional codes and client requirements while leveraging software skills in AutoCAD

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education completed.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit MEP and electrical design software.
• Strong knowledge of building electrical systems across building types.
• Familiarity with architectural concepts and building codes.
• Registered with a professional engineering association.
• 10+ years of project experience.
• Experience with electrical building systems.

Responsibilities

• Design building components integrating architecture while respecting codes.
• Create drawings to support construction projects.
• Perform calculations, code research, and systems analysis.

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer who will work with members of the engineering team in order to develop engineering design solutions appropriate to the context, budget, and aesthetic requirements of building projects. The individual will have the ability to analyze and understand design intent in order to produce efficient and effective technical design solutions. They will collaborate with other professional disciplines and coordinate the design through all phases of the project using their knowledge of building engineering systems, building materials, building codes, and construction technologies. You Will Make an Impact by

• Designing components of the overall building including integrating architectural design and adhering to applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements
• Evaluating engineering design requirements and creating drawings to support constructions projects
• Performing engineering activities such as calculations, code research, material and building systems research, laying out components, and calculation of program and building areas
• Evaluating site conditions, including zoning requirements and site constraints and performs site surveys and field reviews to accurately document existing and new construction conditions
• Synthesizing, interpreting and coordinating technical information to write engineering specifications for Project Manuals
• Reviewing project products, services and shop drawings to ensure adherence to project documents, relevant jurisdictional codes and corporate quality controls

You Will Bring to the Team

• Have successfully completed related post-secondary education
• Is proficient in Engineering software skills, including AutoCAD, Revit MEP, as well as electrical engineering systems design software
• Engineering knowledge related to building electrical systems and multiple building types
• Familiarity with architectural design concepts and building codes is required
• Registered with a relevant professional engineering association
• 10+ years of project work experience
• Experience in electrical engineering buildings systems

The hiring base salary range for this vacant position is $105,000.00 - $140,000.00 annually. Actual compensation will be based on several factors such as education, experience, internal equity and skills.
