Job summary

NORR Architects Engineers Planners is seeking a Principal, Mechanical Engineering to lead delivery of large-scale projects and mentor senior leaders. This role emphasizes executive oversight of performance, quality, and risk, partnering with Practice Leaders and Studio Managers to elevate delivery standards.

The candidate will build lasting client relationships, support strategic pursuits, and contribute to the Centre of Excellence. A B.Eng or M.Eng and 12–15 years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

• 12–15 years of experience in strategic development, business development, and project management.
• Education in B.Eng or M.Eng; professional association membership is an asset.
• Ability to obtain security clearance.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with flexibility.
• Knowledge of architectural design, M&E and structural building systems; codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of large-scale projects from pursuit to completion.
• Oversee sector project delivery, performance, quality, contractual commitments, and risk management.
• Partner with Practice Leaders, Operations, and Studio Managers to strengthen delivery across the organization.
• Advance project delivery standards, governance, and Centre of Excellence participation.
• Build trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders for long-term partnerships.
• Support strategic pursuits with planning, client presentations, and interviews.

As a Principal, Mechanical Engineering, you will lead the successful delivery of our most complex and large-scale projects. Serving as a senior project delivery leader and Centre of Excellence member, you will influence how projects are delivered across the sector and organization, while mentoring the next generation of project and technical leaders.

You Will Make an Impact by

• Leading the successful delivery of large scale and complex projects from pursuit through completion.
• Providing executive oversight of sector project delivery, performance, quality, contractual commitments, and managing risk.
• Partnering with Practice Leaders, Operations, and Studio Managers to strengthen project delivery excellence across the organization.
• Advancing project delivery standards, governance, and best practices as a member of the Centre of Excellence.
• Building trusted relationships with clients and key stakeholders, strengthening long-term partnerships through exceptional project outcomes.
• Supporting strategic pursuits by contributing project delivery expertise during planning, client presentations, and interviews.

You Will Bring to the Team

• Education: B.Eng or M.Eng
• Knowledge: Architectural design and presentation; M&E and structural building systems, permit and building codes
• Membership with a relevant professional association is an asset
• Prior Experience in strategic development, business development, project management and client management is required
• Possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, flexibility and resourcefulness
• Ability to obtain security clearance
• 12-15 years' experience

The hiring base salary range for this vacant position is $140,000.00 - $200,000.00 annually. Actual compensation will be based on several factors such as education, experience, internal equity and skills.
