Job summary

Interpro Pipe & Steel Inc. in Calgary is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical projects across our heavy industrial manufacturing facilities. You will design, specify, and supervise electrical systems, mentor technicians, and ensure compliance with codes and safety standards.

The role requires a PE designation, 12–15 years of experience, CAD and EPLAN proficiency, and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• P.Eng. designation with APEGA or other Canadian associations in good standing.
• 12–15 years of experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing facilities.
• Strong electronics troubleshooting and testing knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital and non-capital electrical projects from design to completion.
• Prepare complete design and equipment specification documents.
• Direct and coordinate electrical installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Develop detailed electrical drawings and update single-line diagrams.
• Mentor technicians and facility personnel on electrical system design.

As Senior Electrical Engineer, you will manage or help lead various capital and non-capital investment and improvement projects, as well as contribute to the technical competence and production requirements of the manufacturing facilities. This position reports to the Director CapEx.Consult with engineers, customers and colleagues to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and productsAttend or lead meetings on site or offsite; prepare complete design and technical equipment specification documentsManage small or medium projects and provide the project stakeholders and sponsors with finished projects in a safe and timely mannerEvaluate the effectiveness of the design and change if necessaryDirect and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes and customer requirementsSupervise the manufacturing and installation of equipment and corrects flaws or malfunctionsAssemble bid, approval and construction issue drawing packagesInspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications as well as compliance with operational and safety standardsDevelop detailed electrical drawings and update single line diagrams as neededParticipate in facility evaluations and present technical reportsMentor technicians and local facility personnel on electrical system design and maintenanceMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societiesDesign, implement, maintain and improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products and systems for commercial and industrial purposesTest equipment and isolate defects in a manufacturing facilityActively perpetuate and embody Interpro Pipe & Steel and engineering department culture and valuesRequirementsMust have Electrical Engineering Bachelor’s Degree from accredited universityMust have P.
