Job summary

The Mosaic Company seeks a Senior Draftsperson, Electrical, to onsite at Esterhazy, SK. You will prepare schematics, diagrams and BOMs for electrical/instrumentation systems and perform related calculations under minimal supervision.

Role requires 2 years of engineering technology training with electrical drafting coursework, plus at least three years of drafting experience in industrial settings. Proficiency with CAD systems and compliance with electrical codes is essential.

Qualifications

• Two years engineering technology training with courses in electrical drafting or CAD.
• Knowledge of electrical/electronic circuitry and industrial machinery.
• At least three years postgraduate drafting experience in industrial/design drafting.
• Familiarity with ISA/SAMA drafting symbols and symbols standards.
• Proficiency with at least one CAD system and current drafting practices.
• Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code Part I and supplements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams, general arrangements, and layouts for electrical/instrumentation systems.
• Prepare detail drawings, wiring diagrams, and BOMs for fabrication and construction.
• Design basic electrical, instrumentation, and control systems with relevant calculations.
• Obtain field measurements and related information for drawings.
• Check complex general arrangements and fabrication drawings for accuracy.
• Use CAD tools to upgrade reports, cost estimates, data, and calculations.
• Perform cable, motor, and starter size calculations and selections.
• Select equipment overload protection devices and loop loading characteristics.
• Prepare simple component sketches and distribute/digitize drawings.
• Retrieve, trace, redraw, and file engineering documents.
• Comply with OH&S and environmental requirements.
