Job summary

EXP is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to join our Mechanical/Electrical Buildings team in the Hamilton, ON office. This role focuses on design development of electrical systems for building projects and coordination with project teams.

You will prepare schematic diagrams, floor plans, equipment room layouts, and schedules; conduct site surveys; perform electrical calculations; and assist with contract administration and supplier coordination.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in buildings consulting engineering.
• Proficiency with Revit MEP and AutoCAD preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Prepare concept reports, meeting minutes, specifications, and contract administration documents.

Senior Electrical Designer

We are looking for a Senior Electrical Designer to join our Mechanical/Electrical Buildings team in the Hamilton, ON office.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

• Under the supervision of senior engineers or a project manager, produce design packages including schematic diagrams, floor plans, equipment room layouts, and schedules.
• Prepare concept reports, meeting minutes, specifications, and contract administration documents.
• Conduct site surveys for existing conditions when required.
• Carry out electrical calculations for the systems.
• Obtain equipment information from suppliers and select equipment with input from senior designers.
• Attend site meetings during construction with a senior staff member.
• Contribute to all aspects of system level design and assist with other general tasks when needed. Experience in the design of power distribution, lighting/lighting controls, fire alarm communications, and other low‑voltage systems (e.g., nurse call, public address/intercom, etc.) for building applications is preferred.

What Your Experience Looks Like

• 10 years of experience minimum, with a preferred focus in buildings consulting engineering.
• Revit MEP experience required and AutoCAD proficiency desired.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.

The hourly range for this role is between $80k – $110k, with compensation packages based on skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and work location.
