Job summary

EXP Hamilton, ON is seeking an Electrical Project Manager to join our Mechanical/Electrical team. The successful candidate will be part of a diverse engineering group in Central Canada and will lead electrical design efforts from concept to construction.

The role requires at least five years of electrical engineering experience, a B.S. in EE, and P.Eng. You will mentor design staff, ensure quality standards, manage risk, and coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams. Salary ranges CAD 80k–120k.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Registered Professional Engineer.
• 5 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, building consulting preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
• AutoCAD experience required; REVIT MEP proficiency desired.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the Mechanical/Electrical Manager or Project Manager with the ability to work independently.
• Lead and mentor design staff on all aspects of their work.
• Ensure EXP’s engineering quality standards on assigned projects.
• Oversee development of design concepts and execution.
• Review designer’s work regarding specifications, reports, code application, submittal review, equipment selection, deliverables, and drawings.
• Apply EXP’s risk management practices to all projects.
• Lead the design team to produce schematic design, design development, tender and construction documents.
• Prepare, studies and reports on electrical system project work.
• Execute complex electrical designs with conflicting design requirements or difficult coordination.
• Contribute to revisions of company design standards and master specifications.
• Evaluate value engineering items with respect to risk.

Electrical Project Manager

We are searching for an Electrical Project Manager to join our Mechanical/Electrical team in our Hamilton, ON office. The successful applicant will be part of a diverse engineering group in Central Canada poised for growth and challenging opportunities well into the future.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

• Reports to the Mechanical/Electrical Manager or Project Manager with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision on projects from start to completion.
• Contributes to preparation of project proposals and other business development efforts.
• Able to lead and mentor design staff on all aspects of their work.
• Responsible for meeting EXP’s engineering quality standards on assigned projects.
• Oversees development of design concepts and ensures proper application and execution.
• Reviews designer’s work regarding specifications, reports, code application, submittal review, equipment selection, deliverables, and drawings.
• Responsible for applying EXP’s risk management practices to all projects.
• Leads the design team to produce schematic design, design development, tender and construction documents that meet the project requirements within the allocated schedule and budget.
• Prepares, studies and reports on electrical system project work.
• Executes complex electrical designs with conflicting design requirements or difficult coordination.
• Contributes to revisions of company design standards and master specifications.
• Evaluates value engineering (cost‑saving) items with respect to the associated risk.

What Your Experience Looks Like

• The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience in the Electrical Engineering field, with a preferred focus in building consulting engineering.
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree.
• Registered Professional Engineer is required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.) products and electrical design software.
• AutoCAD experience required and REVIT MEP proficiency desired.

The salary range for this role is between $80K and $120K. The actual compensation package is based on factors such as skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and location.
