Job summary

EXP Global Inc. in Markham, Ontario is seeking an Electrical Engineer (Buildings) to join our MEP team.

You will design electrical systems, mentor staff, and oversee projects from concept through construction in healthcare, residential, institutional, commercial and industrial sectors. The ideal candidate has at least 4 years of electrical consulting experience, a P.Eng license with PEO, and proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT MEP.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in the Electrical consulting field.
• P.Eng licensed with PEO is required.
• Experience in Healthcare, Residential, Institutional, Commercial and Industrial sectors.
• Ability to lead and manage construction, renovation and electrical system upgrades.
• Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Electrical Safety Code, CAN‑ULC and CSA codes.
• Proficient with MS Office and AutoCAD; REVIT MEP proficiency desired.

In this role, you will be a part of theMEPteam, of theBuildings sector, based in theMarkham, ONoffice. The successful applicant will be joining a diverse engineering group in Central Canada poised for growth and challenging opportunities well into the future.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

• Reports to the Electrica Principal to work independently and with minimal supervision on projects from start to completion.
• Able to lead the design activities and mentor design staff on all aspects of their work.
• Responsible for meeting engineering quality standards on assigned projects.
• Oversees development of design concepts and ensures proper application and execution.
• Reviews designer’s work regarding specifications, reports, code application, submittal review, equipment selection, deliverables, and drawings.
• Responsible for applying risk management practices to all projects.
• Leads the design team to produce schematic design, design development, tender and construction documents that meet the project requirements within the allocated schedule and budget.
• Construction management including, but not limited to shop drawing review, progress drawing review, quotation review, prepare CCN/SI, conduct site visits, etc.
• Writes, studies and reports on electrical system work.

What your experience looks like

• The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in the Electrical consulting field.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng) licensed with PEO is required.
• Experienced in Multi-sector - Healthcare, Residential, Institutional, Commercial, and Industrial sectors of electrical consulting.
• Capable to lead & manage new construction, renovation and electrical system upgrade projects.
• Knowledge in Ontario Building Code, Electrical Safety Code, all applicable CAN-ULCand CSA codes.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.) products and electrical design software.
• Auto CAD experience required and REVIT MEP proficiency desired.

The hourly range for this role is between$80k - $100k. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
