Job summary

Fluor Canada is seeking an experienced Design Lead to oversee electrical discipline design across projects. You will supervise project designers, develop cost-effective solutions, and ensure technical accuracy in all project phases.

You will generate estimates and schedules, monitor material quantities, review specs, and coordinate procurement and subcontracting. Strong CAD skills and knowledge of Fluor design guides are essential.

Qualifications

• Accredited two-year degree or global equivalent with significant work experience.
• Experience with design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Ability to learn and apply local, state/province, and federal guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide guidance to project designers.
• Develop cost-effective total project solutions for discipline design work.
• Develop estimates and schedules, staffing requirements, and progress reports.
• Establish and monitor material quantities, provide analysis and forecasts.
• Develop and review specifications and design criteria.
• Participate in procurement, permitting, and subcontracting activities.
• Analyze problems and provide independent recommendations within project objectives.
• Perform advanced design calculations (lighting, raceway, wiring, panels, junction boxes).
• Provide field assistance.
• Advanced knowledge of CAD systems and 3D modeling software.
