Job summary

AtkinsRéalis Transmission, Distribution and Renewables division seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in EHV substation design, specializing in 115/230/500 kV and above AIS and GIS systems. You will provide technical leadership on large multidisciplinary projects from concept through IFC and construction support.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering and substation design.
• Experience with 500 kV and above projects, AIS and GIS.
• Familiarity with Hydro One and major North American utilities is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership throughout design packages from concept through 60%, 90%, IFC, and construction support.
• Lead electrical engineering and design for 115/230/500 kV and above transmission substations (AIS and GIS).
• Develop and review SLDs, electrical schematics, protection interfaces, and substation layouts.
• Develop and review substation layouts, bus configurations, clearances, & interfaces for major equipment.
• Prepare and review equipment specs, BOMs, grounding and lightning protection requirements.
• Coordinate with Protection & Control, Civil, Structural, Telecommunications, Mechanical and other disciplines.
