Job summary

AtkinsRéalis Canada Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with extensive EHV substation design experience in Canada. The role focuses on 500 kV and above projects for AIS and GIS, leading design packages and technical coordination across multidisciplinary teams.

You will develop SLDs, electrical schematics, protection interfaces, and layout arrangements, while coordinating with clients and vendors to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions for North American grids.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years in electrical engineering and design of high-voltage transmission substations.
• Experience with 500 kV and above projects and both AIS and GIS.
• Strong leadership, coordination, and project delivery skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership from concept through IFC and construction support.
• Lead electrical engineering design for 115/230/500 kV substations (AIS and GIS).
• Develop and review SLDs, schematics, protection interfaces, and substation layouts.
• Coordinate with Protection & Control, Civil, Structural, Telecommunications, and Mechanical teams.
• Engage with clients, utilities, vendors and stakeholders on technical matters.
