Lactalis Canada is seeking an onsite OHS Manager in Belleville, Ontario to lead the site EHS program. You will collaborate with site leaders, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement across health, safety, and environment.

Responsibilities include implementing management systems, coaching safety culture, conducting audits, and coordinating with corporate EHS teams. A diploma in OHS/Environment and 7–10 years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

• University or college diploma in occupational health and safety or Environment or related field.
• Seven to ten years of experience in industrial, environment, health and safety or equivalent.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Strong teamwork and communication with leadership teams across Canada.
• Knowledge of major risks: machine safety, lockout/tagout, confined space, and more.
• CSA knowledge and regulatory updates.
• Strong analytical thinking and data interpretation.
• Proficient in Lotus Notes, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Time management with organizational skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to present data clearly.
• Presentation skills for training across stakeholders.
• Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Implement an EHS management system aligned with ISO 14001 and internal requirements.
• Coach safety leadership and drive behavior-based programs.
• Lead EHS coordinators and liaise with corporate EHS.
• Advance the EHS roadmap with site leadership and action plans.
• Ensure up-to-date environmental permits and coordinate with third parties.
• Review annual EHS programs and advise on site plans with data.
• Oversee incident reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Advise on CAPEX projects for EHS integration.
• Monitor corporate program implementation and action tracking.
• Conduct periodic EHS audits and ensure corrective actions.
• Prepare EHS performance reports for site leadership.
• Deliver selected EHS training and regulatory follow-up.
• Oversee wastewater treatment performance and non-compliance remediation.
• Serve as primary contact for environmental and OHS officials.
