Job summary

Lactalis Canada is seeking an onsite Occupational, Health & Safety Manager based in Belleville, Ontario. You will lead the EHS program, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a culture of excellence across the site with leadership and employees.

You will report to the plant manager and drive the EHS roadmap, audits, and incident investigations while coaching leaders on best practices in health, safety and environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
• 7–10 years of experience in industrial EHS.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Strong teamwork, communication and influencing skills.
• Familiarity with major risk areas (machine safety, lockout/tagout, etc.).
• CSA knowledge and regulatory updates are a plus.
• Strong analytical thinking and data presentation skills.
• Proficient in Lotus Notes, Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Able to balance deadlines with organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the EHS management system and maintain ISO 14001 certification.
• Coach safety leadership and support behavior-based programs.
• Manage EHS coordinators and collaborate with corporate EHS.
• Implement Lactalis Canada EHS roadmap with site leaders.
• Ensure permits are up to date and regulatory liaison.
• Prepare EHS performance reports for site leadership.
• Oversee incident reporting, root-cause analysis and action plans.
• Advise on CAPEX projects to integrate EHS requirements.
• Conduct periodic site audits and ensure corrective actions.
• Provide EHS training and regulatory follow-up.
• Oversee wastewater treatment plant performance and address non-compliances.
• Be the primary contact for environmental and OHS regulators.
