Job summary

Royal Bank of Canada is seeking a Senior Director, Operations in Canadian Wealth Management Operations to lead strategy, oversight, and transformation across multiple departments. You will guide a large team of managers, collaborate with cross-functional partners, regulators, and auditors to ensure compliance and resilient operations.

You will drive regulatory readiness, optimize processes, and implement system upgrades while representing RBC at industry associations and regulatory forums.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in financial services operations and regulatory compliance preferred
• Demonstrated leadership of large, diverse teams and complex functions
• Experience driving strategic change and risk mitigation in multi-line environments

Responsibilities

• Lead regulatory compliance oversight for groups under the mandate, ensuring flawless delivery to clients and regulatory bodies.
• Develop and execute short- and long-term strategies for regulatory readiness and system implementations.
• Serve as SME and senior liaison to regulators, auditors, industry peers, and regulators; represent RBC at associations and forums.
• Influence policy, process, and system enhancements with cross-functional partners and regulators.
• Oversee design, documentation, and improvement of internal controls aligning with audit and enterprise risk standards.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives related to strategy, compliance, technology upgrades, and operational efficiency.
• Monitor departmental metrics, analyze data trends, and report on operational effectiveness and risk indicators; coach staff and support succession planning.
