WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY:
- The Senior Director, ECT Center Operations, as part of the Enterprise Chief Control Office, is responsible for leadership and operational management of control assessments across RBC's platforms and units. The role includes driving consistency, operational excellence, and leveraging automation and data analytics to enhance control assessments, leading a global team.
The Enterprise Chief Controls Office (ECCO) aims to embed a culture of risk ownership and operational excellence by elevating controls, ensuring compliance, reducing costs, and enabling growth through standardized and effective risk practices.
Job Description
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
Primary responsibilities include:
- Control testing operations execution and excellence (50%): Oversee control testing teams across geographies, ensure adherence to policies and SLAs.
- Talent development and leadership (25%): Lead and inspire teams, foster a cohesive culture, support employee development, and manage personnel issues.
- Embedding a robust risk culture (15%): Promote a strong risk environment, improve controls, and manage operational risks.
- Strategy and design (10%): Evolve testing practices, incorporate best practices, and leverage automation and AI to improve efficiency.
- Accountable for executing enterprise-wide control assessments based on internal policies and standards.
- Manage staffing, capacity planning, and work prioritization to meet service levels.
- Lead geographically dispersed teams, drive engagement, and support strategic initiatives.
- Continuously improve the control testing environment, review policies, and ensure standardization and scalability.
- Maintain an enterprise-wide view of control effectiveness, report to senior management, and coordinate regulatory updates.
- Collaborate with partners to resolve control issues promptly.
- Foster a culture of integrity, innovation, and continuous improvement within ECT.
- Ensure operational resilience and business continuity, including contingency planning and cross-training.

Must have:
- Strong people management experience in complex, global environments.
- Expertise in operational risk management and internal controls.
- Leadership in matrixed organizations, stakeholder management, negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills tailored to various seniority levels.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience developing controls testing strategies supporting multiple platforms/units.
- Experience in regulated financial environments, familiarity with controls testing and regulations.
- Lean Six Sigma or automation expertise.
