Job summary

Glen Haven Manor Corporation in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia is seeking a Dietitian to join its leadership team. The Dietitian provides clinical nutrition leadership for Nutritional Services within the facility and collaborates with nursing, physicians, and interdisciplinary staff to support resident health and satisfaction.

Reporting to the Administrator, you will lead menu planning, therapeutic diets, and compliance with regulatory standards while driving quality improvement and resident-centered

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Applied Human Nutrition (Dietetics) or Nutrition Major.
• Completion of an approved Dietetic Internship Program.
• Professional registration with the NSRD or membership in a recognized dietetic association.
• Management or Leadership Certificate is an asset.
• Minimum three years of senior leadership experience in healthcare, preferably LTC, or five years of nutrition management leading medium to large teams.
• Experience with labour relations and collective agreements.
• Proficiency in Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Assess residents' nutritional needs and perform ongoing evaluations and reassessments.
• Develop, implement, and monitor nutrition care plans.
• Recommend therapeutic diets and oral supplements as appropriate.
• Plan menus compliant with Canada's Food Guide and therapeutic diets.
• Lead Nutritional Services staff and oversee operations.
• Collaborate with nursing and medical staff for coordinated care.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on nutrition best practices.
• Contribute to strategic planning and quality improvement initiatives.
