Job summary

Redpath Mining Inc. is seeking a Senior Designer to provide design services to the Manager, Engineering & Technical Services, Mechanical and Structural Engineers and the Operations group.

You will enable project work in safety, codes and standards, schedule, quality and cost control. You will produce drawings, participate in shaft sinking-related design, ensure regulatory compliance, review designs from others, and travel to sites as required to gather measurements and discuss design and risk

Qualifications

• 5 years in mining related environment.
• 10 years’ experience in mining with shaft sinking applications.
• Produce drawings from appropriate software accurately and in a timely manner per specifications.

• Produce drawings from appropriate software accurately and in a timely manner as per specifications and project schedules
• Preliminary and final design of structures, fixtures and components to support shaft sinking operations
• Ensure drawings are produced in compliance with legislation, regulations, manufacturer specifications and safety policies
• Check drawings done by other Designers or Engineers-in-Training
• Conducts product and/or process research as required for projects with guidance of Manager, Engineering and Technical Services and make recommendations
• Participate in discussions regarding design and risk management of designs
• Travel to sites to inspect, take measurements and/or attend technical discussions as needed

Job description
