About the Role

At TELUS, the Wireless Core Team is responsible for the end-to-end architecture, development, and operations of our core wireless network, including service orchestration and automation. We are pioneers in the evolving 5G ecosystem, designing and deploying technologies that transform connectivity for people and businesses. We are seeking an IoT Product Owner to drive this vision forward.

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate product vision and strategy for IoT services over mobile core networks.
• Develop and maintain a product roadmap aligned with business goals and market trends.
• Identify opportunities to enhance IoT connectivity, latency, and security across 4G, 5G, and future networks.
• Guide the DevOps team with clear requirements, priorities, and acceptance criteria.
• Manage the product backlog, ensuring priorities reflect business value and feasibility.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for sprint planning and delivery.
• Write user stories and acceptance criteria to guide development.
• Partner with vendors and network architects to ensure timely delivery of network capabilities.
• Align solutions with customer needs and market demands.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, security, and privacy regulations.
• Lead the design and implementation of network slices, QoS, and security policies for IoT.
• Manage KPIs to measure success and ROI of IoT solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in mobile core network architecture, design, and operations (3G/4G/5G).
• Expertise in protocols like Diameter, GTP, Radius, SIP, MQTT, HTTP/2.
• Knowledge of virtualization (NFV, SDN) and cloud-native deployments (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Understanding of security controls in mobile networks.
• Familiarity with IoT standards such as NB-IoT, LTE-M, 5G network slicing.
• Experience with Agile, CI/CD, and tools like GitLab.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field.

Preferred Skills

• Masters in Business Administration (MBA).
• Agile certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner).
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP).
• Knowledge of radio, transport, signaling, and infrastructure product design.
• Experience with industrial IoT and network slicing.
• Programming skills in Python, Ansible, or API integration.
