The Wireless Core Team is responsible for end-to-end network architecture, development, and operations, including service orchestration and automation. We design, develop, maintain, and support the Wireless Core and Policy Network and its services. Working as a team, we introduce cutting-edge technology and software to drive network orchestration and automation in the rapidly evolving 5G ecosystem, propelling TELUS’ digital transformation. We create innovative solutions to deliver rich wireless experiences, revolutionize connectivity, and expand digital access globally.

You will play a pivotal role in redefining customer experiences by providing strategic guidance, managing change, and leveraging security and AI to deliver reliable, cost-effective products.

What you’ll do

• Lead and manage the TELUS Wireless Policy Network (PCRF/PCF) team, overseeing architectural design and operational maintenance.
• Develop a clear technical vision for the Wireless Policy Network PCRF/PCF, aligning with other network functions.
• Design, deploy, and support scalable, high-availability systems focusing on performance and reliability.
• Create automation strategies and drive CI/CD pipelines to reduce deployment time and costs.
• Provide technical requirements and specifications for network solutions.
• Maintain the technical backlog, prioritizing based on business and operational needs.
• Coordinate sprint planning and oversee product delivery.
• Manage NOC tickets, troubleshoot issues, and conduct root cause analysis.
• Guide testing and deployment in adherence to change management processes.
• Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders on network projects and design discussions.
• Manage the lifecycle of Wireless Policy Network products.
• Execute Proofs of Concept and generate innovative ideas.
• Work with infrastructure tools like RedHat OpenShift in a CaaS/PaaS environment.
• Automate operational tasks through CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop KPI dashboards, analyze traffic, and optimize network architecture.
• Participate in incident handling and operational on-call rotations.
• Design budgets and forecast capacity needs.

What you bring

• 10+ years in wireless core network architecture, design, and operations.
• Expertise in Policy and Charging functions, QoS, network resource management, VOLTE, VoNR, and network slicing.
• Hands-on experience with Nokia Policy Systems (PCRF/PCF SPS), with knowledge of other vendors (Oracle, Cisco, Ericsson, Samsung, Affirmed).
• Strong knowledge of SBA, LTE, protocols like HTTP/2, Diameter, Sigtran, SS7, REST/SOAP APIs, and 5G protocols.
• Experience with protocol stacks including Gx, Rx, Sy, N7, N28, N15, and SBI.
• Proficiency in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, RedHat OpenShift).
• Advanced troubleshooting skills with Wireshark and PCAP.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking.
• Experience with software development lifecycle and CI/CD tools like GitLab, Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with data analytics tools such as Splunk, Netscout, Grafana, Google Cloud Observability.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, IT, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM field.

Great-to-haves

• Experience with Cloud Native Services (AWS, GCP).
• Knowledge of core network, radio, transport, signaling, and infrastructure product design.
• Programming skills in Python, Ansible, or API development.
• Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker, Kubernetes, OpenStack.

Location: Any major Canadian city

Salary Range: $103,000-$155,000

Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 15%

Actual total compensation will depend on experience, skills, and performance. Benefits include:
