Job Description

The Systems Engineering team at Motorola leads the development of our secure, reliable, and scalable security solutions. The System Engineer acts as a core technical leader, managing product launches from concept to production, working closely with product, project, and development teams to ensure successful deployment.

This Senior Design Engineer role is multidisciplinary and pivotal, requiring coordination with multiple teams, analyzing our systems for optimization, and advocating for end-users to inform decisions and test planning.

This position is based in Vancouver, BC, and requires residing in the Greater Vancouver Area with a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities Include:

• Lead technical efforts in delivering mission-critical products with quality focus.
• Design and qualify hardware appliances for security monitoring solutions, including NVRs, AI servers, and workstations.
• Collaborate with ODM/OEM partners for design, validation, and delivery.
• Work with product management to analyze requirements.
• Define timelines with project management.
• Measure and analyze performance of system components.
• Identify and recommend improvements for performance bottlenecks.
• Coordinate with manufacturing for smooth product transition.
• Build relationships across internal teams and vendors.
• Lead RFP processes for vendor selection.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years in hardware technologies.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in automation scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
• Understanding of enterprise technologies like SATA, SAS, PCIe, RAID, SAN/NAS.
• Experience with Atlassian tools and AI/machine learning is preferred.

Salary range: $62,600 - $128,300 CAD. Actual offer depends on experience and skills.

Additional Information

Minimum requirements: Bachelor's Degree, 4+ years in software development. No travel or relocation required. Position level: Experienced.
