Job summary

BCIT is seeking a regular, full-time Senior Systems Analyst to lead and support enterprise-scale data platforms and Power BI analytics within Information Technology Services in Burnaby.

The role focuses on MS Fabric-based data architectures, data warehouse modernization, ETL development, and delivering timely insights to business users, combining strong SQL, data modeling, and BI skills.

Qualifications

• Two-year diploma or bachelor’s degree plus six years of relevant experience, with at least four years in a data-focused role.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Proven IT knowledge and commitment to customer service.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in cross-departmental teams and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Perform data analysis using PL/SQL or T-SQL to identify trends, anomalies, and data quality issues.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders on data quality and gather business logic for remediation.
• Develop data conversion scripts and manage ETL pipelines for centralized enterprise data.
• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data warehouse and modern data platform architectures in MS Fabric.
• Develop dashboards in Power BI and build DAX/Power Query scripts; collaborate with users to gather requirements.
