Job summary

Seequent Limited in Canada is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead generative AI and ML for subsurface modelling within Seequent Labs. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to design innovative AI applications addressing geoscience challenges and customer workflows.

You will develop prototypes, evaluate model performance, and stay current with AI research, while communicating results to peers and stakeholders in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment in Calgary.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of ML R&D experience, incl. deep learning.
• Experience using large language models (LLMs).
• Proficiency with LangChain and LangGraph.
• Experience in orchestrating agentic AI solutions.
• Experience with imagery, GIS or 3D data (point clouds/meshes) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Research and prototype novel AI/ML approaches for subsurface modelling.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deploy AI solutions.
• Analyze data quality and prepare datasets for model training.
• Present findings to stakeholders and document results.
