Job summary

Seequent is hiring a Senior Data Scientist in Calgary to lead advanced ML/AI initiatives within Seequent Labs. You will contribute to generative and agentic AI projects for subsurface modeling, integrating ML into practical workflows and customer solutions.

The role requires 7+ years in ML/R&D, hands-on experience with LLMs, LangChain, LangGraph, and cloud-based data solutions. Hybrid work in Calgary is available with collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of research and development in machine learning, including deep learning.
• Experience using large language models (LLMs).
• Experience with LangChain and LangGraph.
• Experience with orchestration of agentic solutions.
• Experience with AI models for imagery, GIS, or 3D data (point cloud/meshes) preferred.
• Commercial software development experience is a plus.
• Experience with cloud-based data solutions.
• Programming in Python with PyTorch.
• Experience with modern data plotting libraries (D3, Plotly).

Responsibilities

• Solve geoscience challenges using advanced ML/AI, including LLMs.
• Develop and optimize AI/ML algorithms and assess performance and resilience.
• Deliver high-quality prototypes and integrated algorithms addressing customer workflows.
