Job summary

HUB International Canada West is seeking a Data Scientist to be the technical engine of a small, high-leverage analytics function. You will transform data across cloud platforms and SQL into predictive models, self-serve analytics, and AI-powered tools for decision making.

The role blends traditional data science fundamentals with AI engineering, requiring comfort with prompting large language models and integrating them into BI products.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on data science or analytics engineering experience.
• Degree in statistics, math, CS, data science, or engineering; equivalent may be considered.
• Asset: exposure to insurance/financial services and regulated data.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver analytics and ML solutions across sales, retention, finance, and operations.
• Translate business questions into structured analytical problems and communicate results clearly.
• Build AI-enabled analytics workflows and integrate LLMs with BI products.
• Develop self-serve Power BI dashboards and templates for broad audiences.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and govern data accuracy and lineage.
• Automate repetitive tasks and ensure production-quality prompts and workflows.
