Job summary

407 ETR Concession Company Limited in Woodbridge is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to leverage customer, digital and transportation data to create pricing, marketing and customer travel insights. The role reports to the Director of Data Analytics and fosters actionable data-driven solutions within a collaborative, start-up minded team.

You will mentor juniors, work with stakeholders, and deliver models for price elasticity, churn and lifetime value using Python in an AWS environment.

Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
• Graduate degree in Statistics or Operations Research preferred.
• 6+ years working experience with data science techniques: clustering, regression models, classification, anomaly detection and other ML techniques.
• Advanced coding skills with Python within AWS cloud environment is required.
• Knowledge of Tableau, Spark, Gurobi, Sagemaker is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and analyze data to understand customer behavior from existing 407 ETR data, external data sources and emerging sources.
• Build Targeting & Pricing models, as well as optimization using python, gurobi or the like.
• Undertake analysis of target customer groups for marketing and pricing programs and assess opportunities.
• Ad hoc analysis and modeling of data.
• Lead project-based work with key business stakeholders.
• Mentor junior members on statistical techniques and experimental design.
• Build customer analytic models like price elasticity, attrition, lifetime value, churn and segmentation.
• Raise awareness of data science to focus on fact-based decisions.
• Support data storage planning for new customer data fields.
• Represent the department in committees.

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will assist in leveraging customer, digital and transportation datasets to create insights on pricing, marketing and customer travel behavior. The Sr. Data Scientist will assist the Director of Data Analytics and other key stakeholders to bring actionable data driven solutions to 407 ETR. They will have the expertise and knowledge to mentor more junior members while also having the business acumen to understand how to frame a business problem and deliver insight that is actionable. This position is part of a highly collaborative and energetic team in a start-up minded environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assemble and analyze data to understand customer behavior from existing 407 ETR data, external data sources and emerging sources.
• Building Targeting & Pricing models, as well as optimization using python, gurobi or the like.
• Undertake analysis of target customer groups (segments) for specific marketing and pricing programs and assess opportunities and strategies for marketing.

• Strong Mentoring and leadership skills to support and coach junior members on statistical techniques and experimental design.
• Strong experience building customer analytic models like: price elasticity, attrition, lifetime value, churn and segmentation.

• Raise awareness and action of data science within the company to help focus on fact-based decisions.
• Support the Department along with the Information Technology Management Department in planning the structure and storage of new customer related data fields.
• Represent the department in committees within the organization.

Qualifications:
