Job summary

Lyft in Toronto is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to run Production Infrastructure, monitor platform health, and automate operations at scale. You will partner with Data Pipelines and other teams to keep services reliable and fast.

You will design tooling, participate in design reviews, and drive capacity planning with cross-functional teams while implementing industry best practices. Hybrid in-office role with 3 days on-site weekly.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in software development, automation and systems engineering teams.
• Production-grade code in Go, Python or similar languages.
• Experience with data streaming/storage tooling (DynamoDB, Kinesis, Kafka, SQS, S3).
• Experience operating large-scale infrastructure in AWS and related tooling (Terraform, CloudFormation, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Ability to identify bottlenecks and implement improvement plans.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyze metrics from operating systems, control planes and applications for fault detection and performance.
• Design, develop and deploy tooling to improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
• Balance feature speed with reliability and meet service-level objectives.
• Operate and improve infrastructure using best practices and industry tools.
• Participate in design and production readiness reviews and capacity planning with cross-functional teams.
• Document operational processes and automate repetitive tasks.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response to mitigate customer impact.
