Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Toronto is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to own Production Infrastructure, monitor system health and automate operations at scale.

You will build platforms and services for data pipelines, partnering with cross-functional teams to anticipate customer needs and continually improve platform reliability and efficiency. The role is hybrid, in-office at least 3 days per week, with a base CAD 136k–170k salary.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development, automation and systems engineering.
• Proficiency in Go or Python for production-grade code.
• Experience with data streaming/storage: DynamoDB, Kinesis, Kafka, SQS, S3.
• Experience operating large-scale infrastructure in AWS.
• Hands-on with infra tooling: Terraform, CloudFormation, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Chef, Puppet.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyze metrics from OS, control planes, and applications to detect faults and improve performance.
• Design, develop and deploy tooling to improve reliability, scalability and efficiency.
• Balance feature speed with reliability to meet service-level objectives.
• Operate and improve Infrastructure using industry best practices and tools.
• Participate in design reviews, platform management and capacity planning with cross-functional teams.
• Document operations processes and insights, and automate repetitive tasks.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to incidents to mitigate impact.
