As a Senior Data Engineering Consultant in the Metadata Management Program, you’ll contribute to the design, development and support of a variety of integration and process automation techniques to ensure accurate consumption and ingestion of business and technical metadata to and from many systems. You will design and develop APIs to enable programmatic retrieval and management of metadata by consumers external to the metadata management platform. In addition you will ensure reliable and consistent processing to our Collibra cloud platform and automate information lifecycle management processes using web enabled workflows.

As a trusted technical expert, you will collaborate with various business units and demonstrate thought leadership when sitting at the intersection between privacy, ethics, technology, data and consumers to ensure it is leveraged in a respectful manner while continuing to advance our reputation of being trustworthy through transparent communication.

What you'll do
  • Work with business stakeholders on the adoption and onboarding of the TELUS Metadata Management Tool powered by Collibra (training and technical support)
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define integration approaches, identify the best techniques, ensure capture and storage of all available metadata, ensure durable API processing is available to subscription customers
  • Contribute to the strategic direction and evolution of TELUS Enterprise Metadata & Data Quality Management application
  • Leverage software integration expertise with emerging technologies to drive data innovation and enable scalable, future-ready Metadata solutions
  • Support and maintain the various integrations between Collibra and TELUS system sources
  • Support and maintain the API enablement of the TELUS Metadata Management Tool powered by Collibra through the entire lifecycle from design to deployment within the TELUS cloud environment
  • Work with the supporting teams, organizations and vendors to provide updates to existing deployed technologies and collect information from production systems for analysis
  • Define, enable, test and automate scripts for integration and process automation activities including documentation, work products and team presentations as well
  • Develop test strategies and site reliability engineering measures for data products and solutions
  • Participate in agile development scrums and solutions reviews
  • Lead resolution of critical operations issues including post implementation reviews

What you bring

  • You are sought out for your strong understanding of Metadata Management, Data Quality, Data Lineage and Data Management
  • You are respected for your knowledge of Solution Development and Data Management Lifecycles
  • You are recognized for your understanding of integration patterns including RESTful architecture and patterns, APIs and event driven architecture
  • You are hands on in Windows Operating Systems, Unix, Linux, JSON, Yaml, Swagger and with GCP Kubernetes (GKE), GCP Development and deployment using a CI/CD pipeline including Git, terraform, cloud build and deploy
  • You are commended for your expertise with Collibra - including managing system activities, tenant administration, user groups creation etc
  • You are recognized for your understanding of and experience with programming in JAVA especially Springboot or equivalent, with Collibra and Collibra APIs or GCP SDK experience
  • You are recognized for your understanding of and experience with Oracle, SQL server, GCP BigQuery,PostgreSQL,and NoSQL
  • You are an expert communicator and strategic thinker, able to provide a consultative approach in alignment with the Telco Management Industry Framework
  • You are an excellent and effective presenter able to communicate ideas in a clear and concise manner
  • You are an effective influencer and negotiator, able to be persuasive while upholding commitments to our customers, stakeholders and TELUS’ commitment to integrity
    • Fluency in speaking, reading and writing in English
    • 4+ years Data Engineering or Software Engineering experience / 2 year data solution architecture and design

Great-to-Haves

  • University degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science and/or 5 years of working experience in Information Management
  • Demonstrable DAMA international BOK Framework knowledge and/or application
  • Demonstrated TM Forum Frameworks and Open API knowledge
  • Fluency in speaking, reading and writing in French

Advanced knowledge of English is required because you will most of the time as part of this position's main responsibilities given its international scope.

Salary Range: $128,000-$192,000

Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 15%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefitssuch as:
