As a Senior Data Engineering Consultant in the Metadata Management Program, you will design, develop, and support integration and automation techniques for metadata ingestion and management across systems. You will develop APIs for metadata retrieval and management, ensure reliable processing with our Collibra cloud platform, and automate information lifecycle workflows.

You will collaborate with various business units, demonstrate thought leadership at the intersection of privacy, ethics, technology, data, and consumers, and ensure respectful and transparent data practices.

What you'll do

• Work with stakeholders on adopting and supporting the TELUS Metadata Management Tool powered by Collibra.
• Define and implement integration strategies, ensuring comprehensive metadata capture and durable API processing for subscribers.
• Contribute to the strategic evolution of TELUS's Metadata & Data Quality Management applications.
• Leverage emerging technologies to drive data innovation and scalable solutions.
• Support and maintain integrations between Collibra and TELUS systems.
• Manage API lifecycle from design to deployment within TELUS cloud environment.
• Coordinate with teams and vendors for updates and system analysis.
• Automate scripts for integration, processes, and documentation.
• Develop testing strategies and site reliability measures for data products.
• Participate in agile scrums and review sessions.
• Lead resolution of critical operational issues and conduct post-implementation reviews.

What you bring

• Strong knowledge of Metadata Management, Data Quality, Data Lineage, and Data Management.
• Experience with Solution Development and Data Management Lifecycles.
• Understanding of integration patterns, RESTful APIs, and event-driven architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Windows, Unix, Linux, JSON, YAML, Swagger, GCP Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Git, Terraform, Cloud Build, and Deploy.
• Expertise with Collibra system administration and APIs.
• Programming skills in Java, Spring Boot, or similar, with experience in Collibra and GCP SDK.
• Knowledge of databases like Oracle, SQL Server, GCP BigQuery, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL.
• Excellent communication and strategic thinking skills.
• Fluency in English (spoken, reading, writing).
• 4+ years of Data or Software Engineering experience, with 2+ years in data solution architecture and design.

Great-to-Haves

• Degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or 5+ years in Information Management.
• Knowledge of DAMA BOK Framework, TM Forum Frameworks, and Open API standards.
• Fluency in French is a plus.

English proficiency is essential due to the international scope of the role.

Salary Range: $128,000-$192,000

Performance Bonus/Sales Incentive: 15%
