Senior Software Asset Management Consultant for Microsoft License Assessments

Our valued public sector client is hiring a Senior Software Asset Management consultant to lead and support Microsoft Software License baseline assessments.

Background:

The department manages multiple segregated networks running Microsoft products. The license footprint can only be optimized during the first contract year. The department must provide an analysis of license requirements by year-end. Microsoft licenses have been assigned to Software License Managers (SLMs) for granular control.

Tasks:

  1. Plan, coordinate, track, and manage reviews/audits to successful completion.
  2. Review the current Microsoft license footprint, including new and on-premise requirements.
  3. Consult with key stakeholders to review documentation and gather data for analysis.
  4. Refine data collection processes to ensure accuracy and identify gaps.
  5. Validate data to establish the current state of client and server Microsoft license usage.
  6. Develop actionable recommendations based on assessment results.
  7. Prepare a report on current gaps, implications, and recommendations for Microsoft licensing, focusing on:
  • License cost implications
  • Asset Management
  • Process refinement
  • Assist in establishing a process to evaluate license quantities and software deployment.
  • Support review of Microsoft software entitlements across all product levels.
  • Must Haves:

    • Experience with Microsoft Software License baseline assessments (GoC) - 2+ years
