Job summary

CoStar Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and operate reliable data pipelines on a modern cloud data platform in Toronto. This role focuses on production-ready, observable data products and end-to-end ownership from requirements through deployment.

You will work with Python, SQL, dbt, Airflow, PostgreSQL, and Snowflake to optimize performance, reliability, and cost while collaborating with Product Management and Engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience in data engineering.
• Strong Python development skills for data pipelines.
• Advanced SQL skills with large datasets.
• Experience with dbt, Airflow, and production deployment.
• Hands-on PostgreSQL and Snowflake experience.
• Experience with AWS data services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain reliable, scalable data pipelines and data products.
• Develop and optimize data transformations and orchestrations using SQL, Python, dbt, Airflow, Glue, PostgreSQL, and Snowflake.
• Translate business requirements into maintainable technical designs and production-ready solutions.
• Implement automated testing, data-quality checks, monitoring, failure handling, and recovery.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Application Engineering and business stakeholders.
