Job summary

BitGo in Toronto is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and scale data pipelines and data platforms that power analytics across products. You will collaborate with engineers, analysts, data scientists, product managers, and security experts to ensure data is accessible and actionable for teams.

The role combines software engineering and data engineering, requiring a track record in building robust data infrastructure and experience with streaming and batch workflows.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 6+ years of combined Software Engineering and Data Engineering experience.
• Strong experience with TypeScript/Node.js/Python.
• Strong experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
• Strong experience with RESTful API design.
• Experience building data pipelines/ETL.
• Experience with data warehousing technologies (Snowflake, BigQuery, Spark, Presto, Druid).
• Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Git/GitHub, CI tools, JIRA/Confluence, and code reviews.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment; on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that collect transform and curate data.
• Integrate external data sources to enrich the data platform.
• Develop applications supporting customer-facing products and internal systems.
• Enhance BitGo’s blockchain reporting and automated reconciliation systems.
• Ensure high data quality and auditability across pipelines.
• Optimize data systems for near real-time processing and insights.
• Develop self-service tools for data consumers to extract and analyze data.
• Research, evaluate, and prototype new technologies to drive continuous improvement.
