Job summary

Co-operators General Insurance Company is seeking a Senior Data Engineering Developer in Canada (Ontario) to design, develop, and optimize data products and enterprise data solutions. You will manage data pipelines, APIs, and analytics, with autonomy and collaboration to support business insights.

The role emphasizes scalable data platforms, AI-enabled capabilities, and robust data modeling. Hybrid work includes 2 days in the office, with opportunities for growth and development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field is required.
• 3-5 years in Data-adjacent role.
• 3+ years in data engineering building modern data platforms/products.
• Experience with Azure preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of data modeling, ETL, and data warehousing.
• Hands-on with Python, ADLS, Azure Synapse, Purview, Pandas/Polars, REST APIs, OOP, and concurrent design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize data products and enterprise data solutions.
• Ensure reliability and performance of data pipelines, APIs, and analytics solutions.
• Lead junior team members and promote secure, scalable data architectures.
• Configure and use CI/CD pipelines and Databricks environments for development and deployment.
