Job summary

HelloFresh Canada is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a hybrid role at our Toronto headquarters. You will own data pipelines end-to-end, shaping architecture, development, deployment, and operations to empower millions of customers and internal users.

You will work with a cross-functional agile team, leveraging AWS, PySpark, Kafka, Kubernetes, Airflow, and Databricks, and you will mentor colleagues while exploring AI-assisted productivity.

Qualifications

• Proven Python/SQL data engineering with maintainable code.
• Experience with PySpark, Kubernetes and Kafka.
• Data modeling with PostgreSQL and object stores (S3).
• Build robust data pipelines with performance in mind.
• Experience with AI tools to improve collaboration.
• Strong data quality monitoring and testing.
• End-to-end dev processes including CI/CD.
• Agile, delivery-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end data pipelines: architecture, design, development, deployment and operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Scientists, ML Engineers, Product Owners and BI teams.
• Serve as an ambassador for data solutions and mentor colleagues.
• Leverage state-of-the-art tech: AWS, EMR/Glue, S3, Kafka, PySpark, Kubernetes, Airflow, Databricks.
• Apply AI tools to boost productivity and collaboration.
