Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and build scalable data integration solutions in a hybrid Markham-based role. You will lead ETL development using SQL Server, SSIS, Python, and Azure, while supporting cloud transformation and on-prem data migration efforts.

With 7+ years in data engineering, you will mentor teammates and promote best practices in data security and governance, contributing to Engage cloud capabilities across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years hands-on Data Engineering, ETL or Data Warehouse development.
• Strong SQL, Python, and cloud data integration experience.
• Experience integrating data from APIs, relational databases, flat files, Excel, XML and JSON.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and deploy data integration solutions between enterprise apps and business systems.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes using SQL Server, SSIS, Python, PowerShell, and Azure technologies.
• Support cloud transformation, including modernization of legacy integrations and on-prem data migration.
• Build scalable integration frameworks for acquisition, migration, and business transformation projects.
• Troubleshoot data quality issues, integration failures, and performance bottlenecks.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformations.
