Job summary

Aviva Canada is seeking a collaborative Data Engineer to join the IT Data Platform Engineering Delivery team. You will design, build, and operate enterprise data solutions in AWS and Snowflake, and develop ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest data from diverse sources.

You will implement data governance, data quality practices, and manage data workflows with Apache Airflow in a fast-paced, agile environment. Hybrid work arrangement is offered with a strong emphasis on collaboration and growth.

Qualifications

University degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
5+ years’ experience crafting cloud data solutions, data lakes, data warehouses.
Proficient in AWS, Snowflake, Python and DBT for data quality and management.
Hands-on experience with automated workflows using Python and Airflow.
Experience implementing data governance, data quality and agil e practices.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate large-scale enterprise data solutions in AWS and Snowflake.
Develop ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest data from files, mainframe, RDBMS, NoSQL, and Hadoop.
Create and manage data workflows with Apache Airflow, including DAGs and monitoring.
Promote data catalogs, governance, and data quality practices across projects.
Collaborate in an agile development environment to drive delivery speed and reliability.
