Job summary

LGS, an IBM Company, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for our Hybrid Cloud & Data practice in Canada. You will design and evolve modern data platforms, collaborating with Data & AI architects, BI analysts, and development teams to transform data into strategic assets.

The role emphasizes data modeling, pipeline development, and ETL/ELT optimization on Azure, with opportunities to work across large-scale analytics and AI environments while leveraging tools like PySpark, Spark, Delta Lake, and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, or related field
5–10 years of data engineering experience
Experience with modern data solutions and cloud data platforms
Strong understanding of Data Warehouse, Data Lake/Lakehouse, and Data Integration
Proven data modeling and pipeline development
Experience in large-scale analytics and AI environments
Consulting or professional services experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines
Develop data ingestion, transformation, and integration solutions
Implement and optimize ETL/ELT processes
Participate in the design and evolution of modern Data platforms on Azure
Design and optimize data models for analytics and AI needs
Ensure quality, performance, and reliability of data processing
Collaborate with architects, BI analysts, developers, and AI teams
Contribute to deployment automation and continuous improvement of Data practices
