Job summary

RBC is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance the Finance Data Platform. The role focuses on data ingestion, enrichment, reconciliation, analytics, and reporting for financial datasets using Airflow, Databricks, and related tools.

You will collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions, while ensuring documentation and training are in place and providing mentorship to peers.

Qualifications

• Total Experience 5+ years, with 2-3 years Spark experience.
• Solid experience with Hadoop/Hive ETL/data-pipelines or Cloudera.
• SQL/Oracle or ANSI SQL experience.
• Experience on Windows/Unix/Linux OS.
• Undergraduate CS/engineering degree.
• Strong communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Owner/Manager/Lead to determine optimal tech solutions.
• Engage in detailed design and development, tracking issues.
• Ensure solutions align with data/architecture strategy.
• Document technical references and provide training.
• Support production issues for the application.
• Coordinate QA testing and verification with QA team.
• Mentor teammates and share knowledge.
