Job summary

Fidelity Canada is seeking a Senior Technical Analyst, Data Engineering and BI, to design and automate data pipelines and analytics tools. You will modernize data models and dashboards, enabling self-service analytics for product teams and fund research initiatives.

You’ll work with Product, BI and IT to scale Snowflake solutions, automate reporting and improve data reliability while applying best engineering practices.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in Data Engineering, BI Analytics or a closely related role.
• Strong proficiency in Python for data engineering, automation and analytics.
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, including data modeling, SQL development and performance optimization.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational and cloud-based data platforms.
• Experience building internal data pipelines, automation, or analytics tools.
• Experience with Tableau (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Python-based data pipelines, automation scripts and internal analytics tools.
• Build and optimize data transformations, models and workflows in Snowflake and Informatica Cloud.
• Convert existing spreadsheet-based models into scalable, centralized Python and Snowflake-based solutions.
• Automate internal reporting, data validation and analytical workflows to reduce manual effort and error risk.
• Partner with the Product team to support analytics related to competitor analysis and research initiatives.
• Develop dashboards and reports using Tableau; support Power BI or SAP BO where applicable.
• Collaborate with BI and IT teams to administer BI platforms and ensure data governance.
