Job summary

Arc'teryx in North Vancouver is seeking a Manager, Data Engineering to lead our data platform team. You will guide architecture for Databricks, data ingestion and QA frameworks while mentoring engineers and delivering reliable data infrastructure that powers analytics and decision making.

You’ll balance hands-on leadership with people management, collaborate with product and analytics stakeholders, and scale the team to support data-driven initiatives across digital platforms and operations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of data engineering experience with 4+ years in leadership
• Hands-on data platform infrastructure experience (Databricks, ingestion and QA frameworks)
• Strong technical background with emerging leadership capabilities and mentoring

Responsibilities

• Leading and developing a team of data engineers while maintaining technical involvement
• Guiding technical decisions and architecture for your team's projects
• Driving implementation of data engineering best practices and standards
• Overseeing administration, scaling, and governance of our Databricks platform and the data pipelines built on it
• Building and maintaining ingestion frameworks that onboard and standardize new data sources across the business
• Collaborating with product managers and stakeholders to prioritize data initiatives
• Managing team capacity, sprint planning, and delivery commitments
• Coaching and mentoring data engineers in their technical and professional growth
• Supporting hiring and onboarding of new team members
• Establishing and maintaining QA frameworks to ensure data quality and reliability standards are met
• Driving adoption of new tools and technologies within your team
• Managing performance and career development for direct reports
• Demonstrating Arc'teryx leadership code (Lead Self, Lead Others) in daily work
